Fine Art Print: Yazidi Rituals

A Yazidi boy praying during a pilgrimage to the sacred temple of Lalish, the holiest religious site of the Yazidi faith in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Captured in October 2018.

I was honoured to be allowed a visit to the temple of Lalish in 2018 and photograph the religious rituals of Yazidi pilgrims. The temple of Lalish with the great tomb of Sheikh Adi Ibn Musafir is a marvellous place, full of calmness and spirituality. Even though they have suffered unimaginable horrors through the hands of the so-called Islamic State terrorist group during the genocide 2014, the Yazidis are still a friendly and trustful people who are opening their doors to visitors and explain their culture and religion to everyone who shows interest.

This photograph will be printed on highest quality Giclée Fine Art paper (Hahnemühle Pearl) by my trusted printing company based in London. The chosen paper creates really natural black and white images and offers vibrant colour reproduction and great detail. The paper is resin coated with a fibrous feel. The satin finish of the resin coating gives depth to the image which combined with the texture and vibrant colour reproduction gives the image the feel of an oil painting. It is one of the most suitable Fine Art papers for mounting.

Your order will be personally inspected and hand signed by me. If you wish, I can also leave you a short greeting on the back of the print.
