For the official magazine of the St. Gallen Symposium, Tobias has photographed world leaders as well as leaders of tomorrow from the realm of politics, science and business. His pictures can be viewed in the digital magazines of the St. Gallen Symposium 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Tobias's writing has been published in several German news outlets such as Spiegel Online, Zeit Online, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, stern, NEON, Welt, Focus, ntv, evangelisch.de, Tagesspiegel, Frankfurter Rundschau, Huffington Post, bento and Neue Westfälische.
His profile of the Auschwitz survivor Leon Weintraub, published in the newspaper Neue Westfälische for the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, was republished in the German school book "Geschichte und Geschehen Oberstufe" in 2015.
As a fellow of the German foundation Heinz-Kühn-Stiftung, Tobias conducted a six-weeks research trip to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in September and October 2018. His report was published in the foundation's year book.
In the London studio of ARD German Television, Tobias is currently working on TV reports of national and global political relevance such as Brexit, the 2019 UK General Elections, the state visit of Donald Trump to the UK and the London Bridge Terror Attack.
Since December 2018, Tobias is producing videos for the German academic foundation Fritz Thyssen Stiftung in which he profiles the grantees of the foundation and explains their research projects.
In his free time, Tobias is directing, filming and editing videos for his own YouTube channel Middle East What?!, where he explains history, culture and politics of the region.
As a reporter, Tobias has produced radio reports for German public broadcasting channels 1Live as well as WDR Cosmo. He reported from Istanbul about the failed coup attempt of 15 July 2015 and about the plight of the Yazidis after the genocide committed by the so-called Islamic State terrorist group.
