I am usually not particularly interested in the more touristy photo motives of London, so this is one of only a hand full pictures I took of one of the famous red phone booths. It appeared to be peaking at me from between the trees in a place in Central London I have passed a million times. Never have I realised that this phone booth was even there. But that evening I had my long telephoto lens on me, searching for motives that would usually escape the normal eye. Thanks to the compression of the zoom, it looks like the phone box is just popping out of a forest, even though this is located in the middle of Bloomsbury, captured in August 2020. The loneliness of the scene really encapsulates my general mood during this pandemic summer.
This photograph will be printed on highest quality Giclée Fine Art paper (Hahnemühle Pearl) by my trusted printing company based in London. The chosen paper creates really natural black and white images and offers vibrant colour reproduction and great detail. The paper is resin coated with a fibrous feel. The satin finish of the resin coating gives depth to the image which combined with the texture and vibrant colour reproduction gives the image the feel of an oil painting. It is one of the most suitable Fine Art papers for mounting.
