The Shah Mosque (also known as Imam Mosque) of Isfahan, lit up by the full moon on a warm night in March 2017. Built during the Safavid Dynasty under the order of Shah Abbas I of Persia, the Shah Mosque is one of the greatest examples of Islamic architecture in the world. It was completed in 1629 and - located on the breathtaking Naqsh-e Jahan Square in Isfahan - is registered today as a UNESCO World Heritage site. We had reached Isfahan late that evening after a long bus ride through the Kurdish regions of Iran. I was dead tired but forced myself to get out of our accommodation with my camera and walk to the square to wonder at the marvellous architecture. The weather was terribly grey the next day - so this photo is the best shot I was able to take during our stay in Iran. Once more a lesson in life that you should always force yourself to step out of your comfort zone, go out and see the world.
This photograph will be printed on highest quality Giclée Fine Art paper (Hahnemühle Pearl) by my trusted printing company based in London. The chosen paper creates really natural black and white images and offers vibrant colour reproduction and great detail. The paper is resin coated with a fibrous feel. The satin finish of the resin coating gives depth to the image which combined with the texture and vibrant colour reproduction gives the image the feel of an oil painting. It is one of the most suitable Fine Art papers for mounting.
Your order will be personally inspected and hand signed by me. If you wish, I can also leave you a short greeting on the back of the print.
